Life As A Lucid Experience - Finding New Ways To Live Life
When you take the first step to approach Life as an experience and not a chore or a task, you can go about fostering the expansion and development of your perception of Life. Living Life is a type of consciousness, it’s a mindset. An analogy to this would be, an Experience is to Life what Articulation is to Speaking. Everyone can speak but not everyone can articulate properly. Everyone has a Life, but not everyone experiences Life. The mindset of Life is you are either living life as a chore or you are living life as an experience. The distinction between the two is they way you visualize your Life. That is all it is, they way you think about it.
If you are interested in experiencing life, rather than asking yourself what do I have to do today, you can ask what do I want to experience. I’ll give a very simple illustration which may sound silly, but when you start to become involved in it, it will become apparent to make more sense and you will start to show more commitment to it in your everyday life.
Life and the Kitchen
To illustrate this best, we know everyone has to eat, right, Everyone has a kitchen, everyone has a refrigerator, everyone has cupboards and cabinets. And what do they have in them? They have canned foods, dried foods, refrigerated foods and they have drinks and oils and sauces. In other words, they have foods to help sustain them. Sooner or later you will begin to exhaust these necessities and at some point you will have to resupply. When you deplete your supplies, what do you think, the first thing you think is that I need to go shopping, I need to get some more food. Now this is the chore, you are doing something because you feel you have to do it, you have to go shopping to restock your supplies to sustain yourself for the next X amount of days. Now remember I chose food shopping because everyone has to do it and everyone can relate to it. And you can also apply this to anything else you do in your life. Now, how do we go and change a chore into an experience? Well, it can actually be very simple. Rather than thinking in the chore mode, we go ahead and think in the experience mode. It may sound uncomplicated but in reality, subjecting yourself to the motions of change are demanding and punishing for millions of people out there.
The chore method of thinking is I need to go shopping, I need milk, I need eggs, I need stuff for dinner tomorrow. The experience method of thinking is, what new type of food do I want to expose myself to. Do I want to put together something simple or do I want to concoct something unfamiliar and exotic. Do I want to make a simple sandwich or heat up some canned food, or do I want to create a slow roasted chicken dinner. Do I want to eat a bag of Mix Baby Green salad or do I want to satisfy myself with an Organic Mediterranean or Santa Fe Tortilla Salad. Do you notice the difference in rational. Do I shop just to fill my cupboards or do I shop to test my cooking, to experience something fresh and imaginative.
A New Fresh Market
When you go to the market, go with an open mind and become aware of what appeals to you, what expands your creativeness. If you are the type of person who is not to daring, you can always begin with the foods you are acquainted with and little by little incorporate something different. If you don’t like it, don’t use it again. And you go and go out there and search out something you do like and when you discover what that is, you don’t stop there, you go and experiment with something else. You do not need to transform completely overnight. There are very very few people who can change certain routines or traditions overnight. But as long as you sample something. The principal point to keep in mind is whether you make up your mind to move quickly or you have the intention to move slowly, you are just the same moving. And testing 20 things you don’t like is better than reflecting back, years down the road, wondering what it would have been like.
It’s Never To Late
So you may want to know, what will this do for me. Well, first, by starting to reshape your mindset from doing a chore to fulfilling an experience, you can embark on developing your personal strengths, you go about to develop talents, both new and old. Changing your way of thinking in this way will also help you to carry on an acceptable path of Lifelong Learning and will work toward the advancement of maintaining a strong mind. An experience is supposed to add quality and value and knowledge to your life. Subsequently you’ll become a person who goes from living day to day repeatedly over and over again, to one who aims toward creating a tomorrow to enjoy.
