Why Manage Your Risk When Selling Options

Most people start selling options because of the high success rate.  But success rates are not everything, you also need to manage your risk.

Most people who enter the option selling world do so because it comes with a high probability of being correct.  Most people see that they can make money 80% of the time and decide that this is what they should be doing.

Few realize that even with such a high success rate you still should manage your risk.  Just being right 80% of the time isn’t going to make you an automatic Stock Market Trader.

Getting Started in Trading

Almost everyone who is in the stock market has a few long term investments.  Maybe they bought a few ETFs that they believe will go up in the long term.  But along with your investments it is a good idea to place some short term trades.

Looking Ahead to Q1 of 2009

We’ve all heard the old adage, “it’s always darkest before the dawn.” But exactly when can we expect things to lighten up? There’s so much paranoia and mistrust with a stock market in the tank and so many businesses already filing, or preparing to file, for bankruptcy, that while peering into the darkness, we see less than promising news for the first quarter of 2009.

1.       Do they follow your trading rules?  You should have a set trading system in place every time you place a trade.  Obvious the first thing you should look at before placing a trade is, is the stock giving me a buy , or sell signal based on my rules.

Should You Always Repay A Loan Early?

When you work through the numbers, the savings that stem from early repayment of a loan can seem almost too good to be true. Can a few dollars a month really add up to, for example, $25,000 of savings?

When you save money over long periods of time and let the interest compound, the amount of interest you ultimately earn becomes very large. In effect, when you pay an extra $20 a month on a 9 percent mortgage, you’re saving $20 each month in a savings account that pays 9 percent. By “saving” this $20 over more than 25 years, you earn a lot of interest. In the earlier example, this monthly $20 really would add up to roughly $23,000.
